The place and its story
The grassland is in Siziwang Banner, administratively part of Ulaanqab. It should be kept distinct from Xilamuren in Baotou and from the much more distant grasslands of Hulunbuir, even when similar activities appear in advertisements.
Gegentala Grassland has hosted tourism Naadam events, connecting sport, music and cultural presentation. Such an event is dated and organised: its history does not mean a full Naadam festival takes place every day of a visitor season.
