5-Day Chengdu Panda and Leshan Tour | Qingcheng & Emei Overnight

Your 5-day Chengdu panda and Leshan tour starts with the following arrangements. Meet your driver at the Chengdu airport or railway station named in your booking and travel to the hotel in a private vehicle. The arrival day has no compulsory sightseeing, leaving time for luggage, check-in and rest after the journey. The actual terminal or station and meeting point are confirmed before travel.

An early arrival can leave room for an independent neighbourhood walk and a meal of your choice. Recommendations follow your hotel location and dietary preferences; additional guiding or transport is agreed separately rather than added automatically to the arrival transfer.

Spend the cooler morning at the Chengdu Panda Base, observing the animals from public visitor routes. Allow roughly three hours, then drive to Sanxingdui near Guanghan for the selected galleries of ancient Shu bronze, gold and jade objects. Animal displays, individual artefacts and special exhibitions remain subject to current access.

Continue to Dujiangyan and the hotel near the agreed Yangtianwo area. The day includes two substantial visits and more than one road leg, so an early start, advance museum reservation and meal breaks are essential. A waterside evening near Nanqiao is a flexible walk; its lighting and colour effects depend on the operating conditions rather than a guaranteed nightly scene.

Chengdu Panda Base · Sanxingdui Museum

Visit Dujiangyan’s main water-management viewing points and the Anlan Bridge route when open. Your guide links the river divisions and channels to the irrigated plain, with time for footpaths and stairs rather than a brief stop at one viewpoint.

Drive around 30–45 minutes to Qingcheng’s front mountain for forest paths and selected Daoist halls. A cableway can shorten part of the ascent, but its fare and lake connection are confirmed separately and steps remain. Limit the walk to the agreed route so the return to Chengdu, roughly 1.5–2 hours depending on the hotel, fits comfortably. Stay in Chengdu tonight.

Dujiangyan Irrigation System · Mount Qingcheng

Leave early for Leshan, allowing roughly 2–2.5 hours before the Giant Buddha visit. The land route includes steep, narrow stairs if the foot platform is open; a river boat is a separately paid alternative that needs advance agreement and operating water conditions. Do not assume that the full stair route plus a boat can both fit before the mountain ascent.

Continue around an hour to Emei, then use the official mountain bus, the uphill connection to Jieyin Hall and the summit cableway. This is the longest and most active day, with queues, stairs and a rise above 3,000 metres before reaching the confirmed summit-area hotel. Mountain room facilities and luggage arrangements are specified separately from the general city-hotel standard.

Leshan Giant Buddha · Mount Emei

If conditions allow, walk to an authorised summit viewpoint before dawn, keeping warm and moving slowly at altitude. Sunrise, cloud seas and optical effects depend on the weather, and a summit overnight increases opportunity without guaranteeing the scene. Breakfast or an early pack-out arrangement follows the hotel’s actual service.

Descend by the booked cableway and bus, allowing the separate transfer and walking connection for Wannian Temple before returning to the foothills. Do not approach or feed macaques. Continue by private vehicle to the confirmed Chengdu airport or station, commonly around 2.5–3.5 hours from the Emei area plus traffic and check-in. A late onward departure is needed to retain the temple and full descent.
