Two Rivers and Four Lakes Cruise: Plan a Guilin Evening

This is a city evening cruise past illuminated waterways and bridges. Compare the full route with the shorter Four Lakes option before booking.

Plan at a glance

  • Distinguish the city night cruise from the daytime Li River journey
  • Compare the route and adult fare on the actual ticket
  • Confirm the pier and leave time to arrive before boarding

What will you see?

A Two Rivers and Four Lakes cruise is an evening activity in Guilin city. The appeal is watching lit bridges, lakeside buildings and reflections change as the boat moves. Choose it when you would enjoy a seated city-waterfront outing after a day of walking.

It is a different experience from the daytime Li River cruise towards Yangshuo. It does not replace that longer journey through rural hills. If you only want one boat trip, choose according to the view you prefer rather than assuming the two are versions of the same route.

You can also spend an evening walking beside a selected stretch of the lakes and eating nearby. A boat gives a moving view and a defined activity; walking lets you stop when you wish. You do not need to buy a cruise to have a worthwhile evening in Guilin.

Compare the full route and the Four Lakes option

On 24 October 2026, the operator listed the full night cruise at CNY 210 per adult, with an indicated duration of 80–90 minutes. It covers the Li and Peach Blossom rivers and Rong, Shan, Gui and Mulong lakes. Boarding direction and the assigned departure pier need confirmation for your sailing.

The operator's separate Four Lakes product listed an adult fare of CNY 175 and around 60 minutes. Compare the route shown in the order, not just the words “night cruise”. These are dated listed prices, not a promise that a later sailing or another seller's package will cost the same.

A low “from” amount may describe a child ticket rather than an adult fare. Enter the correct travellers before comparing totals. Ask about each child's age, height and seat requirement; do not assume that one child's ticket policy applies to another product.

For a simple evening, choose the shorter option if an hour on the water is enough. Choose the full route if the additional waterways interest you and you have time. A more expensive ticket is only useful when the extra experience matters to your group.

Know where and when to board

The full-route product instructs visitors to arrive 20 minutes early with the required identity document and ticket arrangements completed. It states that seats are assigned. Do not assume a window seat, a private boat or English commentary unless your booking explicitly provides it.

Ask the booking service how a foreign passport is recorded and checked. Keep the exact pier name, location pin and contact number with the confirmation. A landmark beside the water is not necessarily your boarding point, and the departure location should not be guessed from a promotional photograph.

If someone finds steps difficult, ask about the actual route from street to seat, including the gangway and toilet access. A seated cruise still requires boarding. For children, plan toilet time and clothing before the departure deadline rather than rushing at the pier.

Fit the cruise around dinner and the next morning

Choose dinner before or after the cruise once the sailing time is confirmed. If eating beforehand, allow time to finish and reach the correct pier without rushing. If eating afterwards, check that your chosen restaurant will still be serving. Do not assume a city cruise includes a meal.

Bring a light layer if you expect to spend time outside and keep the evening flexible in poor weather. Check the operator's latest notice and your ticket's cancellation conditions. A temporary festival performance or promotion should not be treated as part of every departure.

For photographs, reflections and moving lights can make a phone image difficult. Take a few pictures, then enjoy the view without trying to document every bridge. Avoid blocking other passengers' sightlines. A bright screen and flash can also reflect off a cabin window.

Keep the return to your hotel straightforward, particularly before an early flight or a day at Longji. One evening activity with time to get back comfortably is usually more practical than combining the cruise, a distant dinner and several late stops.
