Plan at a glance
- Match the raft route to your available time
- Check passenger limits before committing to tickets
- Finish at the right place for lunch and onward travel
Book a named route
A Yulong River bamboo raft trip takes you close to the water, with fields and limestone hills beside the river. The important booking choice is the route, not simply the word ‘rafting’. Different piers sell different journeys, and the time on the water is only part of the outing.
Start by choosing between a longer downstream trip and a shorter outing. Then check the start and finish, passenger conditions and available arrival slot. Leave room for the drive, queue, boarding and onward transfer. Do not treat a booking as permission to turn up at any pier.
This is not the Li River cruise from Guilin or a boat trip at Xingping. If your wider itinerary already includes a long river cruise, decide whether you want a second water-based experience or would prefer a walk or cycle ride through the valley.
Compare the route lengths
The operator describes Jinlong Bridge to Jiuxian as a downstream route of 6.18 km with nine weirs. It suits visitors who want a longer stretch on the river and can leave a generous block of time. Your collection point is at the finishing end, not back at Jinlong Bridge.
Shui’edi to Gongnong Bridge is listed as 2.48 km with four weirs. It is a shorter route option, but a shorter distance does not remove the passenger restrictions or the need to allow for queues. Pick-up should still be arranged at the correct landing.
Longcun is described separately as a return route of about 2.5 km. A return product can simplify collection, but confirm that this is the exact product being sold for your date. Similar-sounding pier names and different boat types are not interchangeable.
For either a short or long route, ask for an estimated time on the water and a total hotel-to-hotel time. Water conditions, operations and waiting affect the latter. Reserve a half-day planning block for the outing and a nearby meal rather than promising an exact return hour.

Read the conditions for your exact raft
The official Longcun two-person-raft notice gives a useful concrete example: children under 1 m and adults aged 70 or over cannot board; children meeting the height rule must travel with an adult. It also excludes pregnancy, specified cardiovascular conditions, intoxication and passengers with restricted mobility.
That notice requires a separate raft for an individual over 100 kg, or separate rafts when two passengers together exceed 160 kg. A two-person raft is charged as a whole raft even when only one person rides. These are published conditions for that product, not a promise that every other route uses identical rules.
Send the chosen pier the ages, child heights and any relevant boarding needs before purchase. Ask it to confirm the current rules for that boat. Do not buy a larger raft on the assumption that it automatically accepts someone excluded from the two-person product.
If one person cannot ride, plan a genuine alternative: a suitable riverside stop with a companion and a clear meeting arrangement, or a different activity for the group. Avoid leaving someone to wait at an unfamiliar pier while everybody else finishes downstream.

Use published prices as a starting point
At the October 2026 check, the operator’s route list showed Jinlong Bridge at CNY 320 per raft, about US$47, and Xiatang at CNY 200 per raft, about US$29. Confirm the boat capacity and selected journey with the actual ticket before comparing the price per person.
The same list shows some products with different capacities or minimum charges. A headline fare is therefore not enough to compare two listings. Ask for the total for your group, including any extra raft required by passenger limits.
The US-dollar figures use our editorial conversion of CNY 6.8 to US$1; they are not a live exchange quote. These published raft fares do not establish a package price for your hotel transfers, an English-speaking guide, lunch or a later sightseeing stop.
Get the cancellation and suspension terms before payment. Ask who handles a refund if the operator stops sailing and whether separately booked transfers remain chargeable. Do not assume a raft ticket also refunds every part of the day.

Confirm documents and the last part of the journey
The Longcun notice describes checking a Chinese identity card. It does not establish a confirmed foreign-passport booking workflow. Before using a platform that asks only for a Chinese ID number, contact the operator or an authorised seller for its accepted passport procedure. Do not borrow another person’s identity.
Have the named passenger details match the accepted booking document, and bring the original document requested by the operator. Keep the exact pier name and booking confirmation available offline. The Longcun notice advises arriving 30 minutes before the booked time; your actual ticket’s check-in deadline still controls.
Leave suitcases at the hotel or with an agreed transfer service. Ask what small items may be carried, how valuables should be protected and whether storage is available. Wear footwear that stays secure and follow staff instructions when boarding; the operator warns that raft surfaces can be wet.
Agree the landing, driver contact and lunch plan before setting off. If you rented bicycles earlier, arrange their retrieval or return separately. A bike left at the starting pier will not arrive at the other end with you.
Follow the crew’s safety instructions throughout. If conditions stop the service, choose a land-based plan that remains suitable for the weather. Do not seek an unregulated launch to bypass the closure.
