Plan at a glance
- Book Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, not an unrelated place named Nanshan.
- Confirm passport entry before using an online ticket channel.
- Check whether sightseeing transport and meals are included.
What ticket are you buying?
Searches for Nanshan Temple Sanya tickets usually refer to admission to Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone. The temple is part of the wider visit, which also includes the prominent sea-facing Guanyin statue and garden areas. Check the full attraction name and location before paying.
Compare the contents of the ticket, not just the lowest price shown. A basic admission listing and a package with sightseeing transport or food are different products. Ask whether any additional exhibition or activity you want needs a separate payment. Keep the booking confirmation available on your phone.

Published prices and passport entry
The official ticket-information page lists standard adult admission at RMB 129 in the peak season and RMB 108 in the off-season, approximately US$19 and US$16 using our editorial conversion of RMB 6.8 to US$1. It defines those seasons as October through April and May through September. These are published reference prices, not a guaranteed quote for your visit; confirm the dated product at checkout.
The same page describes scanning a Chinese second-generation resident identity card for an online booking. It does not establish the process for every foreign-passport booking. Before paying, ask the official ticket service or your booking provider whether your passport is supported, how the name must be entered and where it will be checked.
Use the operator’s official channels or a clearly identified authorised seller. Do not assume a discount shown for an age or document category automatically applies to your group. Confirm eligibility before choosing that fare and bring the original document required for admission.

Build the visit around what you want to see
For a first visit, prioritise the Guanyin statue and the temple areas that interest you. Leave time between them for walking, shade and breaks. A morning visit with lunch afterwards is a useful planning option, but the total outing depends on where your hotel is located.
The tourism board lists daytime opening as 08:00–17:00. Opening time is not the same as the last time every part of the site can be entered. Check your booked admission period and current notice before setting off, particularly if you are considering an afternoon arrival.
Sightseeing transport may reduce walking between areas, but it is not a promise of step-free access throughout. If someone has limited mobility, ask which stops are served, how boarding works and what walking remains. Give the operator a specific description of the assistance needed.

Transport and respectful behaviour
Save the scenic area’s Chinese name, 三亚南山文化旅游区, for your driver or navigation app. Agree on the return pickup point and waiting arrangement before entering. If using public transport, check the current route from your exact hotel and its return service rather than relying on an old route number.
Dress suitably for a religious site, keep your voice low around worshippers and follow photography signs inside halls. Bring water and sun protection for outdoor paths. Avoid packing another distant attraction into the same afternoon unless the actual travel times leave enough room.
If your main goal is a quiet beach day, it is reasonable to skip Nanshan. Choose this outing because you want to see its Buddhist buildings and sea-facing statue, rather than feeling obliged to visit every major name.
