Your Beijing culture tour begins with the arrangements below. Your driver meets you at the agreed Beijing arrival point and takes you to your hotel. Leave the first afternoon clear for recovering from the journey and finding your bearings; an early arrival does not automatically add a guided excursion. The meeting details are matched to your actual flight or train.
If you feel like going out, choose a short walk near the hotel and a simple dinner at your own expense. Local contact information is prepared before arrival, so you have somewhere to turn while exploring independently.

Begin among the ceremonial buildings and park paths of the Temple of Heaven. An approximately one-hour guided Tai Chi introduction gives you a practical sense of balance and controlled movement before the day turns to imperial architecture. Continue to the Forbidden City for at least 2.5 hours along its principal courtyards, considering how gates, halls and inner quarters organised life at court.
Finish around Xiushui with a seated calligraphy session: practise handling the brush, try a few strokes and take your finished sheet away. Palace entry is reserved against your passport details; closures, security and available admission times determine the final schedule. This is a full sightseeing day, with meal and rest breaks built between visits.

Travel north to Mutianyu, allowing roughly 1.5–2.5 hours from central Beijing and more in heavy traffic. Choose a manageable stretch of the open wall with your guide, leaving time to pause at watchtowers rather than aiming for a distant tower count. Slopes and uneven steps remain part of the visit even with a lift.
Continue to the Summer Palace for lakeside paths, painted corridors and a different expression of imperial life, then return to your Beijing hotel. This is the trip’s longest road-and-sightseeing day. Wall lifts and the garden boat are optional extras: confirm a valid ascent/descent combination, since the enclosed cable car and chairlift/toboggan systems are separate. Boat operation depends on conditions.

Keep today free by default, with no scheduled vehicle or guide. If you would like a cultural session, book it separately in advance: carve and colour a small gourd to take away; join a 2–3-hour introductory mahjong session for at least four guests; or spend around three hours making and tasting dumplings at an agreed host venue.
Two other choices explore interpretation and tea: an approximately 90-minute Ru-ware-themed divination session presented as a cultural practice, or 60–90 minutes of Song-style tea whisking and tasting. These are alternatives, not five activities packed into one day. Hosts, language support, materials, dietary needs and any group requirements are confirmed before payment; additional transfers are quoted separately.

Independent visit: no accompanying guide. Driver transfers are limited to those explicitly listed.
After breakfast, leave time to pack and check out before your driver collects you for the confirmed airport or railway station. Pickup timing allows for the hotel location, Beijing traffic and your carrier’s departure procedures.
The final morning has no fixed attraction or guide assignment. If your onward service leaves late, an extra hotel night or guided activity can be quoted in advance rather than squeezed into the airport connection.
