Tour highlights

01

A compact history-and-mountain stay

The 4-day Xi’an and Mount Hua tour gives archaeology and the mountain their own main sightseeing days.

02

A defined West Peak route

The standard same-cableway return keeps the mountain plan clear, with longer traverses agreed separately.

03

A city finish when time allows

The wall and Great Mosque can frame the last day when the onward departure leaves enough time.

DAY 01Arrive in Xi’an → hotel

Your 4-day Xi’an and Mount Hua tour starts with the following arrangements. Meet your guide and driver at the Xi’an airport or railway station confirmed in your booking, then travel to your hotel by private vehicle. The day stays clear of compulsory sightseeing, allowing for arrival procedures, traffic and time to settle in. Your confirmation names the actual terminal or station and meeting point.

If you arrive early, a short independent walk and a meal near the hotel can be a comfortable first introduction. Recommendations follow the hotel location and your dietary preferences; additional guided visits are agreed separately.

DAY 02Terracotta Warriors → Da Ci’en Temple & Giant Wild Goose Pagoda

Drive around 1–1.5 hours to Lintong and give the Terracotta Warriors approximately 3–3.5 hours. Compare the formations and figure types across Pits 1, 2 and 3, using details of modelling and surviving pigment to understand the work behind an imperial burial army. Original passports must match the reserved admission details.

Return to central Xi’an for around 1.5–2 hours in the Da Ci’en Temple and Giant Wild Goose Pagoda setting, connecting the Tang capital with Xuanzang’s texts and translation work. The temple visit does not automatically promise an ascent inside the pagoda. Road transfers, a meal break and ticket procedures are included in the timing before returning to the hotel.

DAY 03Mount Hua → West Peak cableway route → Xi’an

Drive around 1.5–2.5 hours to the Huashan visitor centre, then use the official road shuttle to the West Peak cableway. The standard plan returns by the same cableway, with roughly 2.5–4 hours of walking around West Peak and the ridge toward South Peak, adjusted to fitness and open paths.

A longer West-to-North traverse requires a different descent ticket, road connection and substantially more steps, so it is agreed in advance rather than treated as an effortless change. The Changkong plank walk is not included in the standard programme; any request remains subject to operator eligibility, queues and opening. Leave enough time for the last descent and the return drive to Xi’an, especially in poor weather.

DAY 04City Wall → Great Mosque & Muslim Quarter → departure

If the confirmed departure allows, spend around 1.5–2 hours on the City Wall near Yongning Gate, following a short section past gateways and watchtowers. Bicycle hire is possible when available and suitable, but a full circuit is not the goal on a departure day.

Continue for around 1.5 hours at the Great Mosque and surrounding Muslim Quarter, using the permitted courtyards of an active religious site; the prayer hall is not promised to non-Muslim visitors. Collect luggage for the airport or railway station transfer. Select a late enough onward service for both visits, and agree any shortening before booking rather than rushing the connection.
