On this Chengdu to Shanghai tour, begin with pandas and Sichuan heritage, then follow a selected full-length Chongqing–Shanghai sailing through the middle and lower river.
Unpack once on the ship, watch the river towns change.

Several port days offer one of two programmes, allowing a choice of cultural sites or more demanding mountain visits.
Pandas, a teahouse, opera and Dujiangyan–Qingcheng visits precede the river journey.
Open each day for the itinerary and service details.
Your Chengdu to Shanghai tour starts with the following arrangements. Meet your guide and driver at the Chengdu airport on your booking and transfer to the hotel. Confirm Tianfu or Shuangliu, the terminal and luggage requirements, as they have different road links to the city. The rest of the day is free for recovery after the flight, with nearby food or walking suggestions available if you want them.

Only listed road journeys; official internal transport and pedestrian lanes are separate.
Private vehicles for scheduled road journeys →Private English-speaking guiding for scheduled visits. Road driving and local arrival reception are separate; rail or flight accompaniment is not assumed.
Spend about three hours at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, using the agreed official shuttle and walking route to reach the areas open that day. Panda activity and access to particular enclosures depend on the animals and operations. Paths include slopes and walking between stops, so the route is selected for your party rather than described as universally flat.
Continue to People’s Park and the booked Heming Teahouse visit for the agreed gaiwan tea. The scheduled Sichuan hotpot meal and evening Sichuan Opera performance complete the day, with menu, spice preferences, venue and seats confirmed. Face-changing is a stage act, not a backstage lesson or guaranteed interaction with a performer.

Leave early for Dujiangyan, with around 1–1.5 hours by road as an initial city-transfer allowance. Visit the accessible headworks and viewpoints explaining how the Fish Mouth, spillway and Baopingkou channel divide and regulate the river. The Anlan Bridge and Erwang Temple are part of the intended route when open, with their steps, slopes and any operating restrictions considered.
Continue around 30–60 minutes to Mount Qingcheng’s front-mountain visitor access. Follow the confirmed lake, cableway and walking connections toward the selected temples, with a shorter route ending around Shangqing Palace when agreed. Lifts and a lake crossing do not remove all stairs. Both sites make a full day, so actual access, final cableway times and the return road are checked before booking.

Take the booked morning second-class train from the confirmed Chengdu station to Chongqing, using around 1.5–2.5 hours as a planning estimate. Allow both station transfers and security in addition. The Chongqing team meets you and arranges the hotel and luggage handover.
Visit Liziba’s designated monorail viewpoint, then keep time for a rest and dinner before the planned Hongyadong evening view from the permitted river or bridge area. Lights and crowd controls vary, and the restored hillside complex is understood in its modern city setting. Stay in Chongqing before boarding tomorrow.

Spend the morning in Ciqikou’s river-port lanes, with time to look at shops and choose lunch without compulsory purchases. Collect your luggage and transfer to the exact Chongqing boarding point for the confirmed full-length downstream sailing. A berth such as Chaotianmen Pier 11 is only used when it appears on your actual ticket.
Begin the ten-night standard balcony stay. The planned embarkation buffet, selected drinks, porter arrangements and safety briefing follow the booked ship’s programme. This long sailing runs on selected dates, so the entire land itinerary is matched to an available cabin before any connected trains or flights are fixed.

Private local reception for scheduled land arrangements before boarding; shared ship services and actual available language after handover.
Join the planned Fengdu Ghost City excursion, allowing for its hillside temples, steps and symbolic depictions of morality and judgement. The optional cableway has its own charge and operating rules. Return for the included ship meals and the scheduled river interpretation programme.
A bridge visit is only possible with the crew’s express permission and safety arrangements. The planned evening War of Three Kingdoms performance is a shore event in the selected sailing programme, with its actual venue, ticket and return transfer confirmed by the operator. No particular backstage or navigation-bridge access is guaranteed.

Choose the offered White Emperor City visit or Peak of the Three Gorges route. The first focuses on the historic hilltop site and inscriptions; the second reaches a higher viewpoint and can demand more climbing. Book one according to your interests and mobility rather than expecting both full excursions.
Rejoin the ship for the downstream passage through Qutang and Wu gorges. The full-length route plans a passage through the Three Gorges lock system, subject to the navigation assignment and operating conditions. These locks are different from an optional small-vessel ship-lift excursion. The viewing time, included themed dinner and evening arrangements follow the daily ship notice.

Follow the scheduled group visit to the Three Gorges Dam, including the engineering museum and River Closure Memorial Park within the confirmed shore package. Use authorised viewpoints, the actual visitor-document process and the operator’s transport, with no assumption of access to working facilities.
Continue downstream toward the planned Gezhouba lock passage. Navigation priorities determine its timing, and a lecture on the dam and locks is provided only as announced in the day’s programme. Meals and the standard shared ship facilities remain included in the agreed package.

The planned Jingzhou call offers one shore programme. Choose the Chu chariot-and-horse burial-site visit, or the alternative museum and city-wall circuit, when both are operating for the selected sailing. The first places excavated remains in the context of Chu society; the second combines displayed objects with the city’s later defensive landscape.
The operator confirms road transfers, walking, entry arrangements and return time. Museum galleries and archaeological access may vary with the date, so a complete choice of every option is not promised. Rejoin the ship for its meal and river programme.

The intended Wuhan shore call combines Yellow Crane Tower with selected Hubei Provincial Museum galleries. The tower visit introduces its literary associations and river position; the museum focuses on a manageable selection of Chu-region objects such as the Marquis Yi of Zeng’s bells, according to what is on display.
This is a short port-call programme, not a complete museum day. The two sites, city roads, passport entry and the ship’s return deadline must fit the actual call. Museum Monday closure or unavailable reservations requires an agreed operator adjustment before booking. An archaeological bell display does not include a live performance on the original instruments, and a separate replica-bell show is not automatically included.

Choose one full-day shore route. The Jingdezhen option visits the Ancient Kiln folk-craft site, lunch and the agreed porcelain-market programme. Demonstrations depend on the craftspeople working that day; a short visit does not show an entire kiln-firing cycle or include a hands-on pottery class unless separately specified.
The alternative Lushan route uses the booked cableway and authorised paths to the intended Huajing, Jinxiu Valley and Meilu visits, with a regional lunch. It includes mountain walking and steps despite cable access. Confirm transport, which interiors are open and return-to-ship timing for the chosen route. The two full days cannot be combined.

Select one of the sailing’s offered routes. The Jiuhuashan option follows the confirmed cableway and walking circuit toward Baisui Palace, the Arhat hall and Dongya Temple, with the booked vegetarian lunch. Buddhist traditions are explained respectfully without treating legendary ages or religious claims as independently verified historical facts.
The lighter alternative visits the operator’s identified Jindizang Temple venue and a regional meal near Pingtian Lake. Confirm the actual temple address, vehicle access and walking demand, rather than substituting a similarly named site. Both programmes must return within the ship’s schedule; cable access on the mountain option does not make it step-free.

Join the planned Niushoushan shore programme south of Nanjing. Its large contemporary Buddhist complex and underground spaces provide a different architectural setting from the river’s historic temples. The guide explains the relic’s place within Buddhist tradition without promising a private ritual or access to restricted areas.
Follow the confirmed shuttle, escalator and walking route, allowing for steps, queues and the actual ship-return deadline. The scheduled Nanjing-style lunch is within the agreed meal programme. This port call does not automatically add a wider Nanjing city tour.

Return to the ship for meals, the disembarkation briefing and the planned farewell activities. The crew confirms luggage labels, collection, the Shanghai terminal and reception point for tomorrow. A photography-sharing session is a shared ship activity, not an included personal photography service.

After the scheduled breakfast, meet the Shanghai team at the actual cruise terminal or operator-transfer endpoint and complete the luggage handover. The terminal named on your ticket takes precedence over a generic Shanghai International Cruise Terminal label, and navigation can change the release time.
Visit Yu Garden and the adjoining Old Town Bazaar before the Bund walk, with opening and last-entry times checked against the actual arrival. A separate Huangpu night cruise is optional. Stay in Shanghai tonight, leaving a buffer between the long sailing and the departure flight.
