Keep the remainder of the day unhurried after your journey. Leave Kaili for Zhenyuan and spend about 2.5 hours beside the Wuyang River, Zhusheng Bridge and old lanes. View Qinglong Cave’s cliffside architecture from the riverbank; interiors and a separate gorge cruise are outside this programme. Continue to Jiangkou near Fanjing Mountain, allowing a total of roughly 4–5 hours of road travel today. Keep the evening clear before the mountain start.

Zhenyuan Ancient Town

Enter from Jiangkou’s East Gate at the reserved time. Official shuttle and cableway lead to walking paths around Mushroom Rock, temple buildings and open viewpoints. Allow 6–8 hours including queues, steps and rests. Red Cloud Golden Summit has steep narrow sections and separate on-site access controls; ascent is optional, with no promise of both summits. Descend to your Jiangkou-area hotel, keeping the evening quiet.

Fanjingshan

Walk beside the Tuojiang River and through Fenghuang’s stone lanes, comparing the riverside stilt houses, bridges and enclosed courtyards. Your guide explains how trade and local communities shaped the town. It is a lively visitor destination, particularly after dark, rather than a promise of silent streets. Historic interiors and any boat trip follow the confirmed ticket scope. Allow approximately 2–2.5 hours by road from Jiangkou before the guided 2.5–3-hour town walk. A Tuojiang cruise remains a separately paid option; check into a property chosen for practical luggage access and quieter surroundings.

Fenghuang Ancient Town

Enjoy a short independent morning walk before the transfer to Fenghuanggucheng station. Take the booked second-class train to Zhangjiajie West, then continue to Wulingyuan for Baofeng Lake. Allow 2–2.5 hours for local transport, boarding and the scenic boat ride. A delay requires an agreed revision that protects tomorrow’s full forest-park day rather than quietly dropping the lake.

Baofeng Lake Zhangjiajie

Spend the day among the sandstone pillars of the national forest park. Official eco-buses link the Bailong Elevator, Yuanjiajie viewpoints and Tianzi Mountain; use the elevator and cableway in the confirmed direction. Look across rock bridges and forested ravines rather than trying to visit every platform. Allow 6–8 hours including walks, queues and breaks. Steps remain beyond the lifts; distant views depend on visibility.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park · Tianzi Mountain · Yuanjiajie

Reserve about 5–6 hours for Tianmen Mountain, following the ticketed combination of operating shuttles, cableways and escalators. The natural arch and cliffside paths give different views of the mountain; glass walkways are optional when open. Do not assume the historic city-to-summit cableway, the 99-Bend Road or a particular circuit is operating. Walking and queues remain part of the visit.

Tianmen Mountain

Keep free time close to your Zhangjiajie hotel until the agreed pickup. Your scheduled private transfer takes you to the airport or railway station confirmed in your proposal, allowing for traffic, luggage and check-in. Independent time includes no continuing sightseeing vehicle or guide.
