7-Day Xi’an Winter Tour | Huashan, Yunqiu Ice Caves & Hukou

Your Xi’an winter tour starts with the following arrangements. Meet your local guide and driver at the airport or railway station stated in the booking and transfer to the city hotel. Reception uses the nearest permitted vehicle meeting point, with luggage assistance; parking restrictions mean the car cannot always stop immediately beside the exit.

Take the first afternoon at your own pace. The team supplies the agreed bilingual travel-assistance information and reviews warm clothing for the mountain days ahead, rather than adding an arrival-day attraction.

Drive toward Qinling Four Treasures Science Park, allowing roughly 1–1.5 hours each way depending on the hotel. Visit the public animal-viewing areas to learn about Qinling conservation, looking for pandas, golden monkeys, takin and crested ibis where displayed. Qizai, cubs and a fixed number of pandas are not guaranteed to be visible.

Return to Xi’an for the accessible city-wall section and a walk through the Muslim Quarter. The wall has steps and exposed winter wind; choose a sensible walking distance. Food stalls offer an introduction to Hui food traditions, with snacks purchased separately and dietary preferences discussed with the guide.

Qinling Four Treasures Science Park · Xi’an City Wall · Muslim Quarter Xi’an

Drive around 2–2.5 hours to Huashan and use the booked mountain shuttle and West Peak cableway when operating. Explore the permitted upper paths, with the South Peak as the intended walking extension if conditions and the group’s ability allow. Allow roughly 4–6 hours for the mountain circuit, including lifts, queues and breaks. The connecting paths involve steep mountain steps.

Return by the West Peak cableway and stay in Huayin. East and Middle Peak extensions are optional route decisions rather than a promise to cover every summit. The Plank Walk is a separate, controlled activity with its own eligibility, equipment, weather and fee rules; it is not included in the standard walking circuit. Winter closure or ice requires an agreed revised visit.

Mount Huashan

Travel into southern Shanxi to Yunqiu Mountain in Xiangning. Provisionally allow 4–5.5 hours of road travel before village activities, the cave visit and breaks. Ta’erpo’s managed heritage village introduces local performance and food crafts. The planned shadow-puppet and flower-bun activities need a confirmed host, participation format and material specification.

Enter the operating ice-cave visitor route with the required equipment and follow the site’s walking rules. Lighting, ice formations and the chilly interior provide the focus; do not promise a precise geological age or that every chamber is open. Stay at the agreed property near the mountain gateway.

Ta’erpo Village · Yunqiu Mountain Ice Caves

Continue to the agreed Hukou visitor entrance and use the official shuttle where required. Plan about 1.5–2 hours in the open viewing area, staying behind barriers above the Yellow River. Frozen spray and icicles are seasonal possibilities, not assured features of every winter visit.

The complete road day from Yunqiu through Hukou to Xi’an is provisionally about 6–8 hours before visits and longer breaks. Confirm whether the ticket is for the Shaanxi or Shanxi side; they are different entrances and cannot be interchanged without changing the road plan. Hukou Waterfall

Visit the Terracotta Army’s public pit halls with your guide, allowing about three hours after the roughly 1–1.5-hour road journey. Learn how the figures were made, excavated and conserved through authorised displays. Laboratory entry, handling genuine Qin objects and joining conservation work are not included in the public visitor programme. A replica-based teaching activity would require its own verified booking.

Continue to Huaqing Palace to explore the open imperial bath remains and gardens; this is a heritage visit, not a guaranteed hot-spring soak. The Song of Everlasting Sorrow show is an optional separately ticketed evening only on operating dates. Return to the Xi’an hotel with the timing agreed around the actual programme.

Terracotta Warriors · Huaqing Palace

Keep the morning free for packing or a short independent walk near the hotel, then meet the team for the agreed airport or railway transfer. Confirm the actual terminal and allow road, security and check-in time.

No fixed final-day attraction is added. A late show on the preceding evening or an early flight is discussed before booking rather than assuming every combination is comfortable.
